Early Life: Pete was born May 26, 1931, in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, to Franklin Lorenzo and Elizabeth Emma "Lizzie" Beck Thompson. He graduated from Springville High School in 1949.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: He married his "girl", Doris Rowley, on March 16, 1951. Together they raised seven children. He earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University. He served in the National Guard and United States Army for 14 years. He retired after working for a total of 43 years at Ironton, US Steel and LaRoche Industries. He was a high priest of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a temple worker and in many church callings, including Scouting, quorum leadership and clerical positions. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially time spent with family camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. He shared his enthusiasm for sports through coaching and well as construction and preparation of playing fields. He could always be found supporting his family at their various events. He was a quiet example of service who was always concerned about others. Cyril Peter "Pete" Thompson returned home to his Father in Heaven on November 14, 2012. He was 81.

Survived By: His wife, Doris; seven children: James (Jan), Allan (Valerie), Linda (David), Lynn Ann, Michael (Chris), Steven (Laura) and Jean (Dan); 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and sister LaRaine Vaught (Randy).
