Larry Adkins, age 56 of Norman, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Norman Regional Healthplex. Larry Alvin Adkins was born September 29, 1956 in Norman, the 3rd child of 4 children born to Harvey Alvin Adkins and Helen Lois (Prentiss) Adkins. Larry was raised primarily in Norman and attended Norman Schools. He married his true love, a young woman named Linda Diane South, on June 7, 1975. They made their home for a short time in Oklahoma City before settling in Noble. Together they raised 2 children, son Tim and daughter, Christi. Larry worked for the University of Oklahoma in Custodial Maintenance for more than 15 years. For the past 7 years, he has worked as in HVAC maintenance at the US Postal Center in Norman. Larry was a hard worker and a great provider for his family. He liked listening to a good country or classic rock song. He was an avid OU football fan and greatly enjoyed grilling out for his family and friends. He loved fishing and riding his motorcycle and never missed an opportunity to walk his dog "Buddy". Larry was a good husband, a wonderful father and grandfather, a loving brother, uncle and a good friend.

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Harvey and Helen Adkins and Grandparents, John & Mable Nipper, to whom he was extremely close.

Larry leaves behind: His wife, Linda Adkins, of the home; His son, Tim Adkins of Lawton; His daughter, Christi Richmond and husband Charlie of Noble; 3 sisters, Kathy Dearneal and husband Eddie of Yukon, Pat Shreve and husband Rick of Elmore City and Jackie Hughes and husband Larry of Ardmore; 2 grandchildren, Taylor & Austyn; Several cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Wilson-Little Chapel. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
