Obituaries. Mrs. Christina Lund.
Mrs. Christina Lund, 77, a longtime farm resident of this community, died Friday at Sioux Cikty after a one year sickenss.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Lutheran church at Oyens, with Rev. Delpho Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Community cemetery at Remsen, under direction of the Moeller funeral home.
Mrs. Lund was born July 1, 1885 on a farm near Remsen. She was married to Samuel Lund who died in 1958 at Le Mars. After retiring in 1950 the couple moved to Le Mars and during the last year Mrs. Lund resided at the Lutheran home in Sioux City.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Herman Miller, and a son, Donald, both of Remsen; a brother, Andrew Juhl of Le Mars; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Johnson of Dakota City, Nebraska and Mrs. Louis Larson of Le Mars, five grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. – Le Mars Globe Post, Nov 12, 1962, page 10.

Rites at Oyens Sunday For Mrs. Christina Lund. Funeral services for Mrs. Christina Lund, 77, lifelong resident of Fredonia township northwest of Remsen who died last Thursday evening in the Sunrise Manor of the Lutheran Home in Sioux City were held Sunday afternoon with services at Gethsemane Lutheran church, Oyens.
Mrs. Lund had been in failing health one year and entered the Sioux City home after having lived with her son and her daughter in Fredonia township since the death of her husband in 1958.
Mrs. Lund was born July 1, 1885, in the Fredonia community and in the home of her parents, the late John and Maren Juhl, was united in marriage to Sam Lund on January 25, 1911. They farmed in Fredonia township many years and retired to Le Mars in 1960. Mr. Lund died there in 1958.
Mrs. Lund was a kind, family devoted woman, a faithful member of the Lutheran church and highly admired by a host of friends who did much to comfort her in her declining years and who are grieved over her departure and extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Herman Miller and one son, Donald Lund of this community; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter. There is one brother, Andrew Juhl of Le Mars and two sisters, Mrs. Louis Larson of Le Mars and Mrs. Martin Johnson of Dakota City, Nebr.
Funeral services in Gethsemane Lutheran church in Oyens were conducted by the Rev. Delpho Peterson, with burial in the Remsen city cemetery. The Moeller funeral hom e of Remsen was in charge of funeral arrangements and direction.
In the service the pastor was assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Kenmar Jordahl and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Johnson with the sacred hymns, with Mrs. Stanley Mohning at the organ.
