The daughter of Friedrich Wilhelm Bohlmeyer and Anna Marie Moehlmann, Lisette was born in Bünde, Herford, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1888. Five years later, on 12 Apr 1894, she married John Otto Schellhorn at Deshler (Thayer County), Nebraska. They were the parents of three children: Henry, William, and Lisette.

Mrs. John Schellhorn passed away Wednesday, October 13, 1943 at her home near Gladstone, Nebr., at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 5 days. About 10 days before her death she was taken to the Lutheran hospital in York, but as nothing could be done for her she returned to her home.
Carolena Louise Lisette Bohlmeyer, daughter of William Bohlmeyer and Marie Moehlman Bohlmeyer was born April 8, 1872 in Westphalia, province Prussia, Germany, where she was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran church. On September 4, 1888, when 15 years old she immigrated to the United States and made her home at Beatrice, Nebr. She married John Schellhorn April 12, 1894 at Deshler, Nebr. After living at various places they purchased a farm near Gladstone where they have made their home.
She is survived by her husband, John Schellhorn of Gladstone; two sons, Henry and William, and a daughter, Lisette, all of Gladstone; eight grandchildren, Deloris, Arnod, Elmer, Leland, Wayne, Leona, Marvin and Richard Schellhorn, and by three brothers, Carl Bohlmeyer of Fairbury, Fred Bohlmeyer of Plymouth and William Bohlmeyer of Jansen.
Funeral services were held Sunday afteroon at the Trinity Lutheran church west of Gladstone with Rev. Paul J. Reith, pastor of the Grace Lutheran church in Fairbury, officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
