Della Kathleen Buchanan, 81, of Ricker Avenue, died Tuesday at her home.

Ms. Buchanan retired from Magnavox after 40 years of service and was a member of the Local 796 union for more than 30 years.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Her family states, "She will always be remembered for her hard work and her loyalty to her family. Her children were her greatest love after her God."

Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law: Joe and Sherry Buchanan, Sam and Ruthann Buchanan, James Buchanan, and Duane and Patty Buchanan, all of Greeneville; two daughters and sons-in-law: Yvonne and Ronnie Waddell and Robin and Thomas Ripley, all of Greeneville; 13 grandchildren and their spouses: Michael and Tanya Buchanan, Kimberly and Mark Morelock, Jeremy and Cecila Weems, Josh Buchanan, Casey Buchanan, Jason and Kristen Ripley, Isaiah Johnson, Tamarah Ripley, Mathew Buchanan, Laura Keasling, and Leslie Waddell, all of Greeneville; seven great-grandchildren: Bryce Buchanan , A.J. Buchanan, Drew Buchanan, Britiney Henderson, Alexis Morelock, Adyson Kathleen Ripley, and Madison Waddell, all of Greeneville; four sisters: Georgia Kenner, Beatrice "Pete" Edison, Ina Hatfield, and Jenny Gross; a sister-in-law: Shirley Klepper; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend of the family: Timmy Foshie of Greeneville.

Mrs. Buchanan was a daughter of the late Carrie Jane McFarland and Edward Klepper and was preceded in death by a brother: the Rev. William Klepper, whom she reared as her own son; four sisters: Ruth Byington, Evelyn House, Marie Dykstra, and Lillian Davenport; and a grandson: John Robert Buchanan.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Danny Ricker and the Rev. Wayland
Fillers will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning in River Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Buchanan, Jason Ripley, Mathew Buchanan, Josh Buchanan, Jeremy Weems, Thomas Ripley, and Ronnie Waddell.

Honorary pallbearers will be the present and past members of Local 796 union, her grandsons and sons-in-law, Edward and Lana Wilhoit, Paige and Seth Neas, and the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health.
