At the age of 19 months, she immigrated to Mexico with her family. The family worked for four years in Mexico, until they were able to obtain sponsorship and visas to enter the United States in 1930. Mrs. Stewart became a naturalized citizen in 1944.
On July 18, 1943, Louise married Lyle F. Stewart at Newman Grove, Nebraska. To this union, five children were born: Lynn (Marsha) Stewart of Norfolk, Nebraska; Linda (Duane) Gemelke of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Cindy (George) Purdy of Robertson, Wyoming; Claire (Tom) Persigner of Neligh, Nebraska; and Peggy (Melvin) Hoffmann of Norfolk, Nebraska.
Shortly after marriage, Louise worked at the ordinance plant near Mead, Nebraska. After Lyle returned from Military Service in Europe, the couple farmed while raising their family. Later, Louise worked at M.G. Waldbaum Company in Wakefield, Nebraska, when the couple lived near Pilger, Nebraska, and ended her working career at Sherwood Medical Industries in Norfolk, retiring in 1986 after 21 years of employment there. She was active in her church over many years, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and was a member of many bible study groups and women's groups. She enjoyed making crafts, writing poetry, gardening, working in her yard, and many flowering plants.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, in 1985; her parents; and three brothers, Erhardt "Shorty" Boettcher, Art Boettcher, and Walt Boettcher.
Burial was in the Hope Cemetery, Newman Grove, NE.
