Charles Carpenter
Charles C. Carpenter, 70, West Lafayette, died at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Coshcoton County Memorial hospital following one week's illness.
He was born June 24, 1888, in Coshocton county, a son of Delos and Sarah Thornsley Carpenter. On April 4, 1908, he was married to Rebecca Daniels, who survives.
Mr and Mrs. Carptenter celebrated their 50th wedding anniverary last April.
Also surviving are seven sons, Russell of Warsaw Route 1, Ralph and Raymond, Coshocton route 4, John of West Lafayette, Edward of Hanvoer Route 1, Grover of Coshocton and Marion of Fresno Route 2, Three daughters, Mrs. Cecil Easter, West Lafayette Route 1, Mrs. Clifford Infield, Coshocton and Miss Mary Carpenter of the home; four brothers, Jacob of West Lafayette, William of Cambridge, Robert of Coshocton and Lewis of Coshocton Route 1; one sister, Mrs. Christina Fitch, Coshocton; 25 grandchildren and seven great grandchilddren. One daughter, one brother and two sisters are deceased.
He was a member of the First Christian Baptish church, Coshocton.
Early in life he was a coal miner. For a time he operated a store near Plainfiled and for two years a dairy store in West Lafayette.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Bonnell Funeral Home, West Lafayette, Rev. Mark Burden of St. Mary's O, and Rev. Harold House, Coshocton, will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
