James M. Edmonds, 61, of Marlin, died Friday, December 12, 1980, at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 14, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Marlin, with Rick Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin.

James was born in Cameron, Texas, and married Artie Irene Blocker in 1946, in Cameron. The couple lived in Teague for 17 years, where James managed a Duke and Ayres Department Store. They moved to Marlin in August 1960, and He was the Marlin distributor for the Tribune-Herald and Dallas newspapers. James was a World War II veteran and a member of the Timbercrest Church of Christ in Waco.

Survivors include his wife, Artie; son, Danny Edmonds, of Marlin; daughter, Sheila Donahue and husband, Michael, of Belton; a grandson; brothers, Albert Edmonds, Benjamin Edmonds, Donald Edmonds and Jarrell Edmonds, all of Cameron; sisters, Mrs. Florence Pugh and Mrs. Jean Krall, both of Cameron; other relatives and many friends.
