David Maxwell Hall, 66, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, November 5, 2012 at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital.
Born May 8, 1946 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late John Minor Hall and Betty Jean Davison Hall McLaughlin.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a 1964 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School where he played varsity basketball and baseball.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and also served with the West Virginia Air National Guard from 1970-2002 where he worked as a C130 Crew Chief airlift aircraft maintenance specialist.
He was elected to the Town of Bath town council and served from 1983-1990 and again from 1999-2005.
He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60, Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Company and the Mountain State Cruisers, where for many years, he served as treasurer.
He collected Hall China and vintage automobiles.
Surviving are his wife of 22 1/2 years, Marilyn Martha Eckerd Swaim Hall, at home; two step-children, Brian Mathias Swaim, Waynesboro, Pa. and Karen Swaim Hall, New Bern, N.C.; one sister, Gale Ann Hall, Chula Vista, Calif.; three brothers, Mark Leon Hall, Colorado Springs, Colo., Richard Lynn McLaughlin and Neil Raymond McLaughlin, both of Martinsburg; two step-grandchildren, Trevor James Mathias Swaim, Waynesboro and Joshua Tate Hall, New Bern and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Raymond S. McLaughlin.
Funeral services with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, at Berkeley Springs Church of Christ, 290 S. Green Street, Berkeley Springs, with Douglas Petty officiating. Private interment will be in Greenway Cemetery.
