"Last week we noted the death of Mrs. C. A. Boorn, which occurred Wednesday evening at her home in Decatur. For the past few months she has been a great sufferer; yet bore it patiently till the end came. Ella, eldest daughter of the late George Allen, was born in Middlefield, May 25, 1857. In her childhood her parents moved to Worcester, where they resided, until a little over a year ago when she moved to her late abode in Decatur. Her marriage to C. A. Boorn occurred about five years ago. Some years since she united with the Congregational church of this village, and since leaned upon the arm of infinite mercy for salvation ... The funeral service took place from the house, Saturday afternoon, and was attended by a large concourse of sympathising friends. Rev. F. H. Coffrrn conducted the funeral services. The church choir rendered some appropriate music and beautiful floral tributes were laid upon the casket by loving hands and thus all that was mortal of our loved friend and associate was laid away in the cemetery."
