Canaan Kiser Dies Of Shotgun Wound

The body of Canaan S. Kiser, a 69 year old retired school board employe, was found yesterday in the kitchen of his home at 1130 Mountain Ave.

State police said death was caused by a self-inflicted shotgun wound in the temple.

Survivors include his wife Edith; three sons, Frederick of St. Albans, Joseph of South Charleston and William, with the U.S. Navy at Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle Crawford of Charleston and Maxine Kiser at home; one brother, James of RFD 3, Charleston; four sisters, Mrs. V.L. Smith of Bidwell, O., Mrs. Mary Duff of Charleston, and Mrs. D.F. Duff and Mrs. B.H. Miller of Kentucky; and four grandchildren.
