Darrell W. Chestnut, 69, of Kittanning, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born March 18, 1943, in Kittanning, a son of the late George Chestnut Sr. and Dorothy (Shope) Chestnut. Darrell retired from Eljer Corp. in Ford City and was a member of Christ Community Chapel in Worthington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and working on lawn mowers. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alverta (Arble) Chestnut; daughter, Anita Faulx-Boshinsky; son, Douglas Chestnut (Jean), of Kittanning, and James Dowell (Judy), of Ford City, who was raised like a son by the Chestnuts; four grandchildren, Gilbert and Nikkilynn Boshinsky, Paige and Wyatt Chestnut; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by two brothers, George Chestnut Jr. and Larry Chestnut; one sister, Dorothy Peterman; and two sons-in-law, Jack Faulx and Robert Boshinsky. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning and from 10 until the time of services at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev.
