Leoma (Vandever) McDaniel, 76, a long-time resident of Holliday, Texas, formerly of Paris, Texas, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on November 8, 2012 in Wichita Falls.

She was born February 17, 1936 to Tom and Audie (Robbins) Vandever in Paris, Texas. She attended Paris High School, Paris Junior College, and Jacksonville Baptist College. She worked for Williams Petroleum in Burkburnett, Texas and Rodriguez Pipe Yard of Holliday, Texas. She married Hershel McDaniel on August 14, 1959, in Paris, Texas.

The family will receive visitors at Dutton Funeral Home, 300 East Cash Street in Iowa park from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 11, 2012. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Holliday First Baptist Church, 403 South College Ave., with Rev. Daryl Sewel, pastor, and Mr. Gil Peters officiating. Burial will follow at the Holliday Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Hershel; her parents; three brothers, Henry, Mearl, and Felix Vandever; and three sisters, Ovie Duff, Robbie Mullins, and Clara Allen.

She is survived by three daughters, Deloras (Dee) Annell Godby and husband, Fred, of Wichita Falls; Freda Kay McDaniel and Bina Elaine McDaniel, both of Henrietta, Texas; one son, Hershel Wayne McDaniel and wife, Jamie, of Henrietta, Texas; five grandsons, Dakota Denney and girlfriend, Jessi Thornton of Holliday; John Godby, Chase Wilson and Kaden Denney of Holliday, Lee McDaniel of Henrietta; four granddaughters, Jennifer Cannaday and husband, Kyle, of Iowa Park, Kami McDaniel of Houston, Texas, Emily Lidecker and Haley Denney, both of Holliday; two great-granddaughters, Taresa Godby of Zanesville, Ohio and Lilli Denney of Holliday; brother-in-law, Jerry Allen of Paris, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Betty Vandever Bangs of Paris and Pat McDaniel of Commerce, Texas; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Grace Care Center and Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Leoma will always be remembered for her fun-loving spirit and sense of adventure, her generosity and her love of all those she called family and friends. Her loved ones take comfort in a lifetime of memories and knowing that another guardian angel is watching over them.
