ALFRED – Clifton Walter Clark, 66, of Court Street, Alfred, died Tuesday at a sanford hospital.

He was born in Alfred, October 4, 1911, son of Walter and Lena (Palmer) Clark.

He was a member of the Alfred Parish Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge AF and AM of Alfred.

He had been employed for 10 years as a materials handler at CY/RO Industries at South Sanford, retiring in 1976. He was previously employed at Wasco Products Co., Sanford, and prior to that by Pioneer Plastics Corp., Sanford. He was also the caretaker of the Thomas Goodall estate at Sanford.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence (Jenness) Clark of Alfred; six sons, Charles E. Clark of Kittery, Clifton W. Clark Jr. of Hebron, Ohio, Richard A. and Thomas E. Clark, both of Sanford, Peter J. Clark of Columbia, SC, and Dean J. Clark of Alfred; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Springvale. The Rev. Charles Ford, pastor of the Alfred Parish Church, will officiate. Spring interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Alfred.

Calling hours are Wednesday (today) from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
