She had owned Lammer's Floral in Alton for over 30 years, worked at the State Hospital as a secretary, and was a cook on the Wisconsin Barge Lines. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora and a member of the Macoupin County Home Extension; loved gardening, sewing & playing canasta.
Survivors are 22 grandchildren & great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 1 sister; a son in law & wife; many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter, Ramona Nixon; infant son, John Darr; 2 sisters; and 5 brothers.
Funeral services on Jan. 4, 2011 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora with burial in Medora Cemetery.
