Norman Milton "Bud" Werner was the son of John Arthur Werner and Lena Emma Redman.

He married LaVonne J. Becker on 25 May 1946.

Norman died at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain, OH following a lengthy illness, and was buried 8 Feb 2011.

Obituary

LORAIN - Norman "Bud" Milton Werner, 83 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 23, 1927 in Amherst, Ohio. Bud was raised in Amherst and graduated from the former Amherst Central High School in the class of 1945. He had made his home in Amherst until moving to Lorain in 1970. Bud lived in Florida for eight years before moving to Lorain where he has resided for the last six years. Bud served in the United States Marine Corp. He was employed at Lorain Products, Reliance Electric for over thirty years before retiring in 1979 as a Purchasing Agent. He also owned and operated the Weathervane Restaurant in Elyria during the 1970's.
Bud was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst. He loved carpentry work and completing home construction projects and in his spare time he loved golfing. He enjoyed his men's fellowship events with the Lorain Senior Center. Bud and his wife enjoyed their winters spent in Palm Harbor, Florida where he lived for several years.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years LaVonne Joyce Werner (nee: Becker); his son and his wife Wade W. and Sharon Werner of North Olmsted; his daughter and her husband Julene and Ron Maiden of Land O Lakes, Florida; his granddaughter Leslie Werner; his sister and her husband Bettie and Eugene Heck of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lena Werner (nee: Redman).
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 4:00 pm at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be held privately at a later date at the Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter United Church of Christ; 582 Church Street, Amherst, OH, 44001 or the Lorain County Animal Protective League; 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
