TOLEDO — Lavona Marie Stewart, 79, of Toledo, IL, died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday November 8, 2012 at home.
The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday November 12, 2012 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Jewett cemetery.
She was born on May 4, 1933 in Jewett, IL, the loving daughter of Rufus and Marie (Yaw) Gentry. She married Bill Stewart on June 8, 1952; he died on July 20, 2007.
She leaves three sons, Terrall (Cassandra) Stewart, Jerry (Peg) Stewart and Garry "Gob" (Deanna) Stewart all of Toledo, IL; eight grandchildren, Kendra (PJ) Beals of Stewardson, IL, Erica (John) O'Driscoll of Aurora, IL, Nathan (Lindsey) Stewart of Toledo, Nick (Jenny) Stewart of Greenup, Jason Stewart of Greenup, Jamie (Jim) Smith of Toledo, Brock (Mindy) Stewart of Hillsboro, IL and Brooke Stewart of Charleston, IL and 28 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters Helen (Butch) Olmstead of Toledo and Elaine (Ronnie) Carlen of Greenup.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of fifty-five years and one brother Joe Gentry.
She worked at Ettelbrick Shoe Factory in Greenup, Bag and Barrier in Toledo, Rainbow Café in Toledo and retired from Cumberland Unit School District #77 as a School bus driver.
