George William Tickle Sr. lived most of his life in Florida and the Danville, Va. area. He retired from the City of Lakeland, Fla., as groundskeeper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II and the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Fraternal Order of Redmen, Poquoson Tribe #124. In 1949 he married Flora Magdalene Wilson, daughter of Virginia "Virgie" L. Reese and Robert Lee Wilson. He was predeceased by one son, Robert Lewis Tickle and brothers Carl Tickle and Howard Tickle.
