Peter E. Herman died, at his home near La Crosse, Kansas, July 13, 1922, at the age of 59. He came to America from Russia, with his parents, in 1876, and in 1877, settled on a homestead near Liebenthal. In 1889 he was married to Catherine Burghardt. His wife has died.

He leaves five children, Henry F. Herman, George A. Herman, Mrs. Margaret Bieker, John Peter Herman, Rosemary Herman, and four brothers, John E., Joe, Martin, and Henry, one sister, Mrs. John Bolig.

Burial at Catholic Cemetery, Liebenthal, Rush County, Kansas.
