Rites Held for H.D. Wyman:
Was an Outstanding Citizen
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for H.D. Wyman who died last Thursday after a brief illness. Services were conducted by the Rev Rbert Carey from the home at 2:00 and at 2:30 from the First Presbyterian Church in Westhope.
Mr. Wyman's death came as a shock, as he had been ill only a short while, and he is a citizen who will be greatly missed.
Interment was in the Westhope Cemetery. The funeral arrangements were in charge of the Meddaugh Funeral Home. Old friends and business associates through the years were chosen to serve as Honorary Pall Bearers. They included: …
Henry DeForest Wyman was born in Woodhull, Ill., May 12, 1877. At the age of 4 he was taken by his parents to Northwood, N. Dak., where he received an elementary education and grew to manhood.
Mr. Wyman was united in marriage to Lena Von Readen, Oct. 23, 1900 at Franklin, Minn and to the union six children were born. A son Cecil, preceded his father in death in 1927 at the age of 21 years. In 1902 Mr. and Mrs., Wyman moved to Brander township where they homesteaded and have made their home until the present.
In community and township affairs Mr. Wyman has taken an active part and served in many offices among them being Township Treasurer, member of the school board, active on the Literary Society and Committeeman on the AAA.
Mr. Wyman was a man of exemplary character. He was always active in anything benefiting community, state or nation.
After a brief illness Mr Wyman died at St. Andrew hospital in Bottineau, November 15, 1945 at the age of 68 years. He leaves to mourn his absence but to rejoice in his exemplary life, his wife, five children, Gladys of Westhope, Mrs. Walter Sausker of Maybell, Lester and Verl of Westhope and Helen of Beach; one sister Mrs. Mildred Dean of Chicago; 9 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
