DEATH OF MRS. R. M. J. SHARP.
After a two weeks illness, Mrs. R. M. Sharp died at her home in this city, Sunday morning, July 23rd, 1911, at 2 o'clock. Her four children, Charles D. Sharp, of St Loui ; Mrs. William M. English, of Hobart, Okla.; Mrs. Frank P. Stone of Monterey, Calif. ; and R. E. Sharp, of Macon were with her when the end came.
Martha Frances Dysart was born January 18th, 1842, in the country near College Mound, and was the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. James Dysart. At the early age of twelve she confessed Christ as her Saviour and from that day till the time of her death was a devoted follower of her Master. In all church work she was ever ready to perform her obligations and was a truly religious character in every particular.
She was married at College Mound to Richard Minor Johnson Sharp on August 29th, 1860, and lived there a number of years prior to coming to Macon. Here her good works will long live in the memory of all who know her. She was a devoted wife and mother and her sorely bereaved children have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
The funeral services were held at the residence on North Pearl street Monday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Dr. S. C. Palmer, of the Presbyterian church, and Rev. George W. Sharp, which were largely attended. Interment was made in Oak wood cemetery.
Those attending the funeral from a distance were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Sharp and son, Charles, of St Louis, Mrs, W. M. English of Hobart, Ok., Mrs. Frank P. Stone of Monterny, Calif., Mrs. Mollie Tedford, Mrs. Kate Hendrix, James W. Dysart, Mr and Mrs. R. M. Johnson, Mrs. H. H. Turner and Miss Minnie Harlan of Moberly, Mrs. Emma Oleson of Marshal!, Mrs. Beulab Lee of St. Joseph and Rev. G. W. Sharp of Kirksville.
