R E Sharp 85 Was Merchant 50 Years Macon Mo
Nov 28 (AP) — R E Sharp 85 retired Macon business man and civic leader died at his home Wednesday night. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Macon Presbyterian church.
Sharp whose father founded the first general store in Macon County operated Sharp’s Mercantile store here for more than 50 years. He was the oldest director in point of service on the board of the Macon Building & Loan association having served since 1890. He had held the post of president.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs Catherine Forney of Moberly, Mo.; two sons, Richard D. Sharp of Hinsdale Ill., and Dr. Charles E. Sharp of Callao, Mo.; and a sister Mrs W. M. English of Hobart, Okla.
