SUSAN KLYCE GRIST, 50, passed away on September 15, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. She was a Home Health Nurse, and from ages 12 thru 16 was a Red Cross Volunteer, serving 1100 volunteer hours. In 1973, she was named Red Cross Volunteer of the year. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jim Odom, her paternal grandparents, Ted and Nellie Green, and her maternal grandparents, Albert and Letty Hutcherson . The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue. Services will be on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Prescott Baptist Church at 961 Getwell, Memphis, TN, with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Hadfield Veazey and her husband, Michael, of Chantilly, VA; her mother, Ann H. Odom of Memphis and her father, Thomas A. Klyce of Memphis; two brothers, Mark Klyce of Lakeland, TN and Jonathon Jones of Texas. She also leaves behind a great host of friends and loved ones. Memorial contributions are preferred and may be made to the Newborn Center at the Med, Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center, Church Health Center, or charity of donor's choice.
