Anna Francis and her husband, James and their family of six children started from old England for America - September 5, 1853 - arriving in New York on October 24, 1853. "May God Bless Us All with Long and Happy Lives in America." James Francis was a showmaker. They stayed in New York only a little while, then went to Belvidere, Illinois.

James F. - b. Nov 18, 1838
William F. - b. Sep 15 1840
Walter F. - b. Oct 25, 1842
Elizabeth F. - b. Aug 11, 1845
Frederick F. - b. Feb 22, 1850
Mary Jane F. - b. June 25, 1852
It is believed James died in Belvidere about 1855 and Anna died about 1866.
It may not be that any marker has survived for this pioneer mother's final resting place.
