"Charles Franklin Valentine, 83, formerly of 507 Penn St., Hanover, died Friday at 1:45 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren Home, New Oxford R. 1, where he was a guest since April, 1962. The Adams County coroner, Dr. C. G. Crist, said the death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. He was a son of the late John W. and Sarah Alice Ecker Valentine. His wife, Mrs. Bertha Adella Valentine, died May 26, 1955. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Samuel Bowman, Hanover R. 5; Mrs. Paul Orendorff, Hanover; Chief Warrant Officer Charles William Valentine, Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Richard Bevenour, Spring Grove R. 2; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Stella Harner, Hagerstown, Md., and Lee Valentine, Hanover. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. Rev. Charles W. Coates, assistant pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery at Hanover."
