Patricia (nee Larson) Bevan, 59, of 638 Hunter Avenue, Staten Island, NY, unexpectedly died on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. She drowned on the first floor in her home after she refused to evacuate from Hurricane Sandy.

She was born in Bayonne and moved to Stapleton in 1967. She later returned to Bayonne for a time, but came back to the Island in 2001, settling in Midland Beach.

To those who knew her, she was a very loving person who was friendly with everyone, no matter who they were. She would always start a conversation with them like she knew them for years. The last present she recently gave to her sister Barbara was a birthday cake and she will never forget that.

Patricia was a parishioner of Saint Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Midland Beach.

She took comfort in her home at her little bungalow. She loved taking care of the house and planting lots of flowers in the yard, making it beautiful.

Waiting for her there, tails wagging, would be her Pekingese, Cutie, and her black Labrador retriever, Elvis, named after her idol, the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

Along with the companionship of her dogs, Patricia enjoyed crocheting, especially making blankets. She also was a big fan of Dr. Oz, never missing a chance to watch his show.

She adored her nephews and nieces and loved her sisters, with whom she was very close.

Beloved wife of the late Raymond Bevan (2006). Loving mother of the late Scott Bevan (2004). Cherished sister of Barbara Larson, Rose Larson, Carol Belajonas and the late Kathleen Larson. Dear aunt of Christopher Larson, Lisa Marie, Jennifer and Joseph Belajonas Jr. Loving great-aunt of Travis Belajonas. Devoted daughter of the late Clarence (2001) and Ann Larson (2011).

Visitation was offered on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 4-9 PM followed with a chapel service officiated at 7:30 PM at the A. Azzara Funeral Home, 183 Sand Lane, South Beach, NY 10305. Cremation was private. For more information or online condolences, please visit Patricia's tribute page at aazzarafuneralhome.com
