Elizabeth joined the church on May, 21 1937 at Pilgrim Rest Church. She was old regular Baptise.
Her and my Grandpa moved to Michigan, where Lovel worked at Ford Motors from 1957 to 1966. When he retired in 1966, May 7th they moved to Marion, Ohio where they bought a house 4 doors down from my parents (Don and Patsy Hayes)and I.
My Grandmother was a quite person, soft spoken and always dressed everyday in a dress. Never seen her in a pair of slacks. A wonderful Grandma I had and I thank God He blessed me with her. We would plant flowers together and I can remember sitting in the back yard stretched across her lap and she would ever so gently run her fingers through my hair. She was the caretaker during school hours should I ever get sent home sick, she was the cook on many days, bringing down that pot of beans and cornbread. She loved all her children, inlaws and grandchildren. She had a pretty smile. She never worked outside the home, nor learned to drive a car, but all the important things she was, loving, honest, hard working, caring, she was SAVED by the blood of Jesus Christ and she had the fruit of the Spirit. I thank God for my grandma and am thankful she made Heaven her home!
