Karl Willis Chugg, 31 of Pleasant View, Weber County farmer and railroad man, died this morning at five-twenty-fine at a local hospital following a ten-day illness of pneumonia which resulted from a severe cold contracted during the subzero weather last week.
Mr. Chugg was born I Farr West, June 11, 1903, the son of Bishop Moroni Chugg and Ida Taylor Chugg. He lived in Farr West until the time of his marriage to Mary Ellen Barker in Salt Lake City on March 19, 1924, when he moved to Pleasant View. He was graduated from Weber academy in 1922. He was active in the L. D. S. church at Farr West and Pleasant View being a member of the seventies. He had been working in the maintenance department of the O. S. L. railroad for the past eight years. Mr. Chugs is survived by his wife, his father, four sons and daughters, Cecil, Melvin, Glen and Orville, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Hubert Heslop, West Weber; Mrs. James Davis, John Chugg, Vanita Chugg and Ezma Chugg of Farr West; Melborn and Duard Chugg and Mrs. Harold Brown of Ogden.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at one o'clock in the Pleasant View L. D. S. chapel with Bishop Henry L. Jensen presiding. Friends may call at the Lindquist and Sons chapel Wednesday evening from six until nine o'clock and at the home of his wife's mother, Mrs. Mary A. Barker of Pleasant View Thursday and Friday until time of services. Interment will be made In the North Ogden cemetery.
