Services for Clifford P. Verdegem, 88, of 1025 45th St., Rock Island, are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to Central Church of Christ, Davenport, where he was a member.
Mr. Verdegem died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1992, at Trinity Medical Center East, Moline.
He was born Sept. 5, 1904, in Moline, the son of Peter and Anna Johnson Verdegem. He married Vera Carlson Sept. 13, 1924, in Rock Island. She died Oct. 15, 1933. He married Magdalene Frisk Dec. 28, 1934, in Rock Island.
He was a punch press operator at John Deere Plow and Planter, East Moline, for 48 years, retiring in 1966.
He was a member of John Deer Retirees Club, American Association of Retired Persons; Tri-City Organ Club; former member of International Order of Odd Fellows 583, Moline, where he was a past noble grand master and past district deputy; and a former member of the AFL/CIO Union Local.
He enjoyed stamp collecting and reading.
Survivors include the widow; daughters, Eunice Schorpp and Judith Bartlett, both of Moline, and Kathleen Franklin, Rock Island; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Cowan, Kearns, Utah; and stepsisters, Patricia Jones, Moline and Irene Braden, Davenport.
