Lovina Dale, 80, longtime and well-known Guymon resident, died May 7, 1996, at St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo, Texas.

The daughter of Ina (Stewart) and Dan Haffner, she was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Stonington, Colo. She attended country schools and graduated from Springfield High School, Springfield, Colo. in 1932. She received a teaching certificate from Friends University in Wichita, Kan., and received a bachelors of education from Oklahoma University in 1956.

She married Don Dale on July 8, 1946, in Raton, N.M. The couple made their home in Guymon, where they raised their family and were active in church and civic affairs. Mrs. Dale was a member of the Presbyterian Church, active in Hope Circle and was an Ordained Elder. She was a member of P.E.O., Chapter FQ and American Association of University Women.

Surviviors include her husband, Judge Don Dale of the Guymon home; a daughter, Deborah and husband Pete Headrick; a son Doug Dale and wife Nancy of Guymon; a sister Maurine Beaman of Enid; five grandchildren, Jennifer and David Dale and Charity, Hope and Colter Headrick of Guymon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jean Haffner, in 1994.

Memorial services were held May 11 at 2 pm. at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Jacobson, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.
