The family moved to Guymon from Kansas in 1935. They established the Byerley Restaurant in a downtown location. They later built the Byerley Motel and restaurant, which they operated until their retirement.
A member of the Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, she was active in several functions of the church. She was a member of the Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Millard Byerley of Amarillo, Tex.; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren (some of the grandchildren, she raised); and one sister, Nellie Hixon of Dunaway Manor.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev Grady McCullough and Rev. Jim Smith, officiating. Concluding services will be in the Lions Memorial Park of Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of the Bunch Funeral Home.
