Dies at Age of 80

Sister Lawrence died while on duty at the St. James Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Although she was in her 80th year she was so spry and active one would never think of her as more than 60.

She complained of not feeling well Tuesday morning. She had her lunch about 11:30 a.m. and then laid down to rest. She died while asleep.

Sister Lawrence has lived a long and useful life. She taught school in southern Minnesota for many years. She was born in 1860 near Waseca, and taught in the Waseca, St. James, Sleepy Eye schools and in several other places.

Sister Nazarius and Sister Benedict of Rochester came Tuesday evening and accompanied the body to Rochester Wednesday morning. Sister M. John, Sister Isabelle also went to Rochester Wednesday morning. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. at Rochester. A number of the other sisters here expected to attend. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery.
