Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, October 12, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes was born March 27, 1927 in Caldwell County to the late George and Ida Norman Coffey. In addition, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee Barnes, and eight children. She worked as a knitter.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Booth of Newton and Janet Coss of Iron Station; one brother, Shuford Coffey of Lenoir; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
