Virginia Triplett

Virginia Coffey Triplett, 77, of Riverside Drive, Lenoir, died Friday, May 19, 2006, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.

She was born May 16, 1929, in Avery County to the late George Willey and Ida Belle Church Coffey. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Hill Triplett, two sons, Bill Triplett and Tom Triplett; four brothers, Lawrence, Arvil, Baxter and Bobby Triplett; and one sister, Eloise Penny.

Mrs. Triplett was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Terry Triplett and wife Jeanne, Jerry (Cotton) Triplett and wife Sandy, and Gary Triplett and wife Pam, all of Lenoir; one daughter, Barbara Triplett of Lenoir, a brother, Shuford Coffey of Lenoir; two sisters, Louise Rhodes of Lenoir and Marshalle Barnes of Denver, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Judy Triplett of High Point; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22, 2006, at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel at 4 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Doug Howell and the Rev. Jobie Borders. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home.2006

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Triplett, Stephen Zajac, Kenneth Nelson, Jerry Dillard, Junior Hamby and Johnny Greene. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Bolick and Shuford Coffey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645.

Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
