Funeral services for Stephen Ross Barrington, 82, of Kingwood, formerly of Lamesa will be held on Monday September 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lamesa with Fred Heath and Roy Byrd officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday September 9, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gail Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Steve passed away on Saturday September 8, 2012 in Humble. He was born on June 23, 1930 in Throckmorton, Texas to Robert Wallace and Myrtle (Haney) Barrington. He was one of 12 children. Steve married Dorothy Bradshaw on December 8, 1950 in Borden County. They were married for 61 years. Steve was the owner of Barrington Pump and Machine for 54 years. He was a member at First Baptist Church where he was a deacon. Steve was a long time member of the Model A Association of America and he served as a past President of the Big Spring Model A Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barrington of Kingwood; children, Linda Jones and husband, Paul of Kingwood, Tricia Smith and husband, Thorne of Austin; sister, Katie Clements of Wilson, OK; brothers, Snookie Barrington and wife, Mattie of Throckmorton, and Fred Barrington and wife, Connie of Horseshoe Bay; sister-in-law, Margie Barrington of Throckmorton; grandchildren, Sean Branon and wife Lorna, Neal Branon and wife, Amanda, Karen Diers, Rebecca Diers, Neil Jones and wife, Zoe, John Jones and wife, Jenny, and Tyler Smith; 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Ralph, Tommy, and Eddie; and sisters, Rosa, Martha, Ruby, and Marie.
