Charles did not marry. He was the son of George Edgcumbe (ca 1813-1882) and Mary (nee Williamson) Edgcumbe (1817-ca 1893). George was born ca 1813 in Devon, England, a descendant of the long- and well-established Edgcumbe family. He emigrated to Canada and in 1835 married Mary Williamson, also born England. George died in CA while visiting family, or perhaps he and Mary had separated. She died in New York. 9 identified children.
