Florence Louise Newburn, 86, died Sept. 8, 2007, at Golden Plains Health Care Center, Hutchinson.

She was born March 2, 1921, in Newton, the daughter of William H and Hannah M Lindahl Stewart. A resident of Partridge, formerly a longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a beauty operator.

She belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361 Auxiliary.

On Oct. 4, 1937, she married Floyd Newburn in Newton. He died June 10, 1999.

Survivors include: a son, Bill, Leavenworth; a daughter, Hannah Hoefer, Partridge; a brother, Lloyd Stewart, Folsom, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise; two brothers, Pete and Ralph Stewart; two sisters, Caroline Turpen and Peggy Dennis; and two grandsons, Tim and Joe Fenton.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairlawn Burial Park, with Chaplain Art Maddock presiding. Friends may sign the register from noon to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The casket will remain closed.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the funeral home.
