Mrs. Edna Jurelle Stansell Culberson, who died on August 19, 2012, was the widow of James Mathis Culberson, who passed away on May 14, 2012. She was born on the 1st of July in 1929 to Monte Zuma Stansell and Ida Yarbrough Stansell, both of whom preceded their daughter in death. She was also preceded in death by eight of her siblings: Ralph Stansell, J. W. Stansell, Dick Stansell, Kathleen Payne, Lois Adams, Jennie Marie Stansell, Juanita "Peggy" Wiseman, and Rosanell "Rose" Duck.

Mrs. Culberson finished high school at the early age of 16 and began a lifetime of work in the textile industry at Burlington Mills. Eventually she left Burlington to work for Galey and Lord's personnel department, where she retired after 50 years of dedicated and faithful service.

Mr. And Mrs. Culberson were married on January 15, 1950. She always supported her husband in his baseball and football accomplishments in their early years, as well as in his Georgia Senior Golf Group. They enjoyed traveling and camping with their golf group, as well as attending sporting and school events for their many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. They also loved visiting with friends in their coffee group and golf club. Mrs. Culberson was also a very supportive Atlanta Braves fan, and loved watching them play baseball. She was also a dedicated and faithful member of Shannon United Methodist Church

Mrs. Culberson is survived by one brother and her many nephes, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and church.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23rd at Parnick Jennings' Good Sheperd Funeral Home, with interment to follow at the beautiful Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens. Rev Alvin Taylor will officiate at the services.
