"Mrs. Mary Ette Butts died at Thanksgiving Hospital, Monday afternoon from pneumonia, from which she had been suffering for several weeks. She had been in feeble health for several years. Mrs. Butts was married fifty-six years ago to Charles Butts in Toddsville, but spent most of her married life in Clayville, N. Y. She removed here five years ago, on the death of her husband, and made her home with her sister, Mrs. Charles Peck. Mrs. Butts is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Julius Williams of Cooperstown, Mrs. Herbert Allison of Toddsville and Mrs. Charles Peck of Cooperstown. The funeral was held from her late home, Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. Dr. T. F. Hall officiating. Interment at Flycreek." ["The Otsego Farmer & Republican" (Cooperstown, NY), May 30, 1919]
