The identify of this William Roberts is in question as a newer photograph creates some doubt. He may not be William father of Rial Roberts. More research is needed to prove that relationship.

"Suggested edit: William Roberts is a very common name. Other cemeteries have not been done as thoroughly as this cemetery, so I've heard from several people who REALLY wanted one of the memorials to be a relative, so they would pin their hopes on a gravestone that hadn't been researched. This gravestone has a death date of Sept.21, 1863 & an age of 87 ys , 5 ms, 29 ds. which puts his birth at Mar.23, 1776. I know you want it to be your Robert, but the stone does not look like 77 yrs. Even at 77 yrs., that puts the birth date at Mar.23, 1786."
