Dorothy Jean Fuqua, 83, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, surrounded by her family. A time for the family to receive friends was held Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be from 10 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at Hillier Funeral Home with interment following at Bryan City Cemetery.
Dorothy was born in Giddings, Texas, to the late Floyd and Iris (Dodd) Helmer. She married Clyde Fuqua and spent her life building a home for her husband and children. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 1, 2008.
Survivors include son, Doug Fuqua and wife, Tweeter, of Bryan; daughter, Carol Newland and husband, Noel, of Bryan; grandchildren, Keith Newland and wife, Barbara, Craig Newland and wife, Susan, and Clinton Fuqua; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kiley Newland; sisters, Patsy Colley, of Caldwell, and Grace Arnold, of Austin; and many other relatives and numerous friends.
