Patsy Colley 79, of Caldwell formerly of Bryan passed away suddenly Friday, September 14, 2012 in Bryan. Patsy was born February 6, 1933 to parents Floyd Helmer and Iris (Dodd) Helmer.

She earned her work ethic at an early age from her family. After graduating high school, she worked briefly for Southwestern States Telephone Company as well for Caldwell as an operator.

She married Hugh Colley August 18, 1951 in Bryan. To this union was blessed three children Alan, Warren, and Donna.

Patsy enjoyed flowers especially her roses. She would spend many hours reading or writing crossword or jigsaw puzzles. She taught her family to always keep your mind active reading and learning and instilled that in her grandchildren as well.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and by a sister Dorothy Fuqua.

Patsy is survived by her loving family her husband of sixty-one years Hugh Colley, two sons, Alan Hugh Colley and wife Sharon, Warren Bruce Colley and wife Lorrie, and daughter Donna Kay Sanchez and husband Danny all of Caldwell, six grandchildren and their spouses; Matt Colley and wife Donna of Bryan, Kerry Elliot and her husband John of Franklin, TX, James Colley and wife Nicole of Caldwell, TX Michael Colley and wife Connie of College Station, TX, William Colley and wife Allison of Copperas Cove, TX and Scott Rowan and wife Tyffany of Caldwell, TX.

A graveside service will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chriesman Cemetery with Rev. David Ryman officiating burial will follow. Visitation will be Sunday evening at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Colley, James Colley, William Colley, Warren Bruce Colley, Matt Colley and Scott Rowan.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations be given to The First Assembly of God Church of Caldwell or charity of your choice.
