On 7 April 1903, they purchased 62 acres in Norge, County of James City, Virginia, for $1,400. On 15 June 1905, Ole and Bertha sold their property in Norge, and returned to Washington. They lived at 1818 Wetmore in Everett, Snohomish County. He was active in the real estate business and built lots of houses. Ole and Bertha were members of the Central Lutheran Church. Ole liked to fish, even in his old age. He bought a fishing boat for $3,500. He was getting ready to go fishing when he died in the spring of 1930.
