Virginia Conway King, daughter of Walter Joseph & Erma Clendenin Conway, was born March 17, 1918, in rural Tipton, Iowa. She was a 1936 graduate of Tipton High School. On January 24, 1940, Virginia was united in marriage to Norman Milton King in Davenport, Iowa. She was a farmwife, homemaker and volunteer. Virginia was a member of Red Oak Presbyterian Church; Clerk and Elder for Red Oak Church; Red Oak Kings Daughter; Senior Dining Board & Site member; Mt. Zion Community worker; Cedar Manor Care Review Committee; delivered meals on wheels and belonged to numerous card clubs.

She is loved and missed by her sons, Donald King, of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Darold King, & wife Karen, of Tipton, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Maxine Moes, of Lowden, Iowa and Helen Mueller, of Pasadena, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Erma Conway; her husband, Norman King on January 26, 1979; a grandchild, Kevin King and her brother, Don Conway.

Virginia Conway King, 86, of Tipton, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, in Mercy Iowa City after a sudden illness. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, where friends may call from 5 to 7 tonight. Burial: Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Survivors include her sons, Don of Council Bluffs and Darold and wife Karen of Tipton; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Maxine Moes of Lowden and Helen Mueller of Pasadena, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Erma Conway; her husband, Norman King on Jan. 26, 1979; a grandchild, Kevin King; and a brother, Don Conway.
