Former Percilla Resident Dies At Palestine Home

Mr L. T. (Tommy) Cook, age 72, retired garage owner of route 1, Palestine, died Friday, May 25, at 1:15 p m in a Palestine hospital, following an illness. Mr Cook formerly lived at Percilla before moving to Palestine. He was born in Florida on January 30, 1879.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 28, at 4 p m in the Hassell and Foster Chapel with Rev Paul Weisinger officiating. Interment was in the Davis cemetery, near Grapeland.

Pallbearers: Frank Wells, Jno. White, Marion Evans, Vard Evans, Frank Steadman, Henry Bynum, Olen Maln and Buck Lasiter.

Survivors: wife, Mrs Jessie Mae Cook, Palestine; three sons, Odell and Hamilton Cook, both of Palestine and James M. Cook of Biloxie, Miss; three daughters, Mrs. Jack Ashby of Crockett, Mrs Milton Luce of Porterville, Calif., Mrs James B. Ward of Ft. Worth, two brothers, John Cook of Crockett and Arthur Cook of Florida; five sisters, Mrs. Mack Streetman and Mrs Oma Nichols, both of Grapeland, Mrs Mary Hudson of Elkhart, Mrs Nettie Taylor of Houston and Mrs Jettie Suggs of Florida; 10 grandchildren.
