The Quincy daily Journal, 7/16/1890 p. 4 Mrs Kate Bailey Dead. The sad news of the death of Mrs Kate Bailey of Carpentersville, Illinois, arrived here last evening and will be quite a shock to her many friends. She was a sister to Mr. C.C. Washburn of Eighth and Lind Streets, and Mrs. C.V. Easterday, of 518 Jackson Street. Deceased formerly lived in Quincy and was well known. She died yesterday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock, after an illness of one week with heart trouble. She was 48 years old and leaves, beside her husband, one child a daughter [Alice Washburn Bailey].
The remains are expected to arrive here tomorrow morning, and the funeral will take place at 2 o'clock from the residence of her sister Mrs. Easterday.
