The Death of Vincent R. Washburn
The death of Vincent R. Washburn occurred at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the residence of his grand-daughter, Mrs. Effie Baily, after an illness of a week.
Mr. Washburn was born in Kentucky(sic) in 1814 and was 77 years 2 months of age at the time of his demise. In 1862 he came to this city, where he had since resided. He leaves a wife and two children: They are Mrs. C. V. Easterday and Mr. C. C. Washburn, both of this city.
He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, being an active member of John Wood post No. 96. Mr. Washburn was a good man, well liked by his friends. The funeral takes place at 2 o'clock from 2119 Hampshire street, to which friends are invited.
