Mable (Brewer) Overman, age 87, of Mulberry, formerly of Lafayette, went to be with her Lord at 8:05 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Center following a glorious Mother's Day with family and friends. Born September 30, 1924, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Newell and Eva Lontz Brewer. She was a graduate of Battle Ground High School. Mable married Joe Overman on July 8, 1961, in Battle Ground and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1996. She worked at Meredith Hall at Purdue University for 7 years and at Duncan Electric for 7 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Battle Ground United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge of Lafayette and enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, flowers and houseplants.
Surviving are three sons, Steve Overman (wife, Elizabeth), of Edmond, OK, Tim Overman (wife, Mary), of Mulberry, and Craig Overman (wife, Cheryl), of rural Frankfort; one sister, Sharon Downey (husband, Dave), of Lafayette; a daughter-in-law, Linda Page, of Lafayette; and three brothers, Ross Brewer (wife, Carol), of Lafayette, Albert Brewer (wife, Loretta), of West Lafayette, and John Brewer of Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and many great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Page; two brothers; and one sister.
Friends may call from 10 a.m until the service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Battle Ground United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian White and Craig Overman officiating.
