QUAPAW, Okla. - Thomas Richard Power, 59, died at 11 a.m. Monday at his home in the Hockerville community, Quapaw route 1, following a brief illness.

Mr. Power, a citizen band radio buff who used the name of Gold Miner on the airwaves, was born at Anderson, Mo., on Feb. 29, 1924. He had lived in Ottawa County for 49 years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Picher.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lavada Power; a son, Lawrence Richard Power, Tulsa; two daughters, Mrs. Mary June Beets and Mrs. Lavada Ann Williams, both of Picher; a sister, Mrs. Ralph Smart, Kelso, Wash., 12 grandchildren. and one great-grandchild.

Services will be announced by Jim Thomas and Son Funeral Home, Picher. The family will be at 420 N. Pearl St., Picher.

Burial will be in Berson (sic) [Burson] Cemetery, east of Perry.

Pallbearers will be Ray Sharp, Wyan Sims, Cecil Muhuran, James Williams, Bob Power and Junior North.

Arrangements are under the direction of Jim Thomas and Son Funeral Home, Commerce.
