Mrs. Oliver Bear Dies at Age of 57 - Resident since 1921 Will Be Buried Thursday
Mrs. Jennie Prentice Bear, 57, wife of Oliver Louis Bear mechanical engineer, died yesterday at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago. She had been failing in health for three years.
Mrs. Bear...formerly was active in several Rogers Park women's organizations. She was born Dec. 29, 1879, in Cambridge, Mass., coming west after her marriage to Mr. Bear whom she met while he was a student at Harvard University.
From 1912 to 1921 the Bears resided in Rogers Park where Mrs. Bear was a member of the Women's club and active in the auxillary of St. Paul's by the Lake Episcopal Church. They moved here in 1921.
Surviving are her husband and two sons, Edward Knighton Bear of Deerfield, and Arthur Prentice Bear of Chicago.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's by the Lake Church...Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, 5708 Madison St., Chicago.
